The Copley Newsletter has rebirthed as the Copley Phoenix! Produced by volunteer Di Starick with the support volunteers and private donations, this bumper 24 page colour issue has photographs of regional community events, information on local issues and services, community notices, cheeky poetry and more… download as a 1.6mb pdf or pickup a printed copy at Gerry’s Antique and Collectables store, Pika Wiya, the Old Schoolhouse, Leigh Creek PO, Open Cut Cafe and Leigh Creek Service Station.

The Copley Phoenix is printed with the kind support of the Leigh Creek Area School. Letters to the editor and content submissions can be sent to the Editor at PO Box 65, Leigh Creek, 5731

  1. Congratulations Di on the inaugral issue of the Phoenix which has arisen from the ashes and continues the great job of informing, amusing and integrating the Copley and surrounding districts. This is a great bumper issue with good news, sad news, and amazing revelations for both Copley and Leigh Creek residents…Well done on doing a stirling job on a shoestring and thank goodness for the support of the history club and our friends in Leigh Creek. The Copley Newsletter is the harbinger of much needed positive change in the Flinders and we wish the Phoenix a smooth flight into the future 🙂

  2. Apologies to July, which missed out, due to the influx of information almost daily. Thus adaptability had to become the norm. Thank you for your thoughts. I must admit to actually enjoying the challenge.
Yes, it is now the Copley Phoenix, rising from the ashes of an attempted witch-burning, a thwarted effort to stop freedom of speech, freedom of the media, and freedom to communicate what is important to our special community.
We have learned how to fly with singed wings…but fly we will. Many thanks to Leigh Creek Area School for their support and to the Copley History Group(who will be doing some fund-raising to keep this all going)

  7. Hey Lulu, want to write an article in issue 28, maybe, getting ready for the fire season or a little snippet on supporting local newsletters? You know, you could even offer a donation to help it along?
    Peace & Light

  9. actually, it will be out tomorrow, all going well. I would welcome anything you may wish to add Lulu, unless of course you wish to remain anonymous. Unfortunately, I would need contact details to print anything…..its the law.
