Mogsie and her dad have been busy planting all sorts of wonderful greens in their vege patch at Maynards Well. The area is well protected from winds and goats and they have come up with an ingenious solution to both irrigation and frost protection with their poly pipe domes which can be covered at night and double as sprinkler mounts. The garden is sprinkled with edible and medicinal herbs and a great mix of winter and spring veges growing well, including brocolli, carrots, tomatoes and bok choy which is attracting the local bees who have a hive in the creek and occasionally provide honey. What a treat! The garden is fully organic and Mogsies secret ingredient? Poo! Well done Morgaine!

  1. it is a wonderful garden isn’t it? I personally like the fairies who look after it at night. The area was originally the chicken yard, but they were eating all the plants and veges in the garden outside. The solution….put the vege garden in the chook house…imminently logical solution. well done moggsie and Eddy. 🙂

  3. Dad Is home!!! and we ate broccoli from the garden yesterday, and this morning we are cooking a bunch of beetroot. Our carrots
are almost ready, the stocks are starting to flower and marigolds
are starting to open. Our garden is singing.

  4. Great stuff Moggsie, there’s nothing better than fresh food from the garden is there? Last night we had a salad of all sorts of salad leaves and flowers too – rocket flowers, bok choy and coriander flowers, calendula petals, nasturtians and blue borage flowers! Yum!
