Help! Cockroaches!
March 25th, 2008
I’ve had a plea from an infested reader for tips on how to control cockroaches that have gotten out of hand. (Not you’d want them in hand…) They’ve outnumbered the baits and good hygeine isn’t enough as the population grew out of control when the house was unoccupied. Any tips, prefereably non-toxic, would be greatly appreciated!
You could try leaving cucumber with the ends cut off, pyrethrum and vanilla beans in the cupboards.
Or
Wipe out cupboard with: a little tea-tree, peppermint, citronella essential oils.
A trap can be made using a glass jar, grease inside walls [preferably with a vegetable oil [ please do not purchase any GM products, you don’t want mutant roaches if they survive this one], and half fill the jar with beer. The roaches can’t resists and will fall into the jar [they will drown but, they are usually
quite ‘merry’].
