Looks like a cheery night at the Copley Pub! You can see more old pics and maps and interviews with locals on an online trail from Port Augusta to Darwin at Connecting the Continent.

  1. I believe there used to be some really ‘hip’ nights at the old Copley Pub in days gone by…..will be interesting to get some of those stories from the long-time residents. Wonder if we know any of the people in the photo?

  4. it does look like Tommy. If you follow the link to the site mentioned you will see his photo there. I wonder where the photos came from……………some seem to come straight from a photo album. I wonder whose. It would be interesting to do a follow-up story in the newsletter, so if anyone knows who has the copyright on them, I would appreciate any information. Ta.

  5. I didn’t quite know where to put this news, so, this being a post about tracks, I thought it may be loosley connected to the following….
Babcock & Brown, who own NRG, probably Leigh Creek, the coal mine, the rail line, the power station…etc (don’t quote me on this bit), lost heaps in the stock market yesterday. It was on the ABC news program last night.

    http://abc.com.au/news/stories/2008/06/13/2273927.htm?section=australia
Babcock and Brown has entered its fourth consecutive day of steep falls on the Australian sharemarket, as investors fret about its debt levels.

The investment firm’s market value yesterday plummeted below $2.5 billion, which is the trigger point at which its banks can review their loans to the company.

At around 11:30am AEST the stock was down more than 25 per cent to $5.15.

    hhhmmmmmmmmm
